Volunteer Opportunities

Adopt-a-Cemetery Volunteers

Volunteers may adopt one or more cemeteries within a town. Responsibilities include identifying all Revolutionary War Patriots buried there and coordinating documentation efforts.

  • Identify cemeteries within an assigned town
  • Locate and document all Revolutionary War Patriots’ gravesites
  • Work with local historical societies and cemetery commissions
  • Ensure accurate records and respectful documentation
  • Photograph headstones clearly and respectfully

Research Volunteers

Research volunteers help document each Patriot’s Revolutionary War service using reliable historical sources.

  • Research military and patriotic service during the Revolutionary War
  • Verify information using primary and secondary sources
  • Document and cite sources clearly for future reference
