Volunteer Opportunities
Adopt-a-Cemetery Volunteers
Volunteers may adopt one or more cemeteries within a town. Responsibilities include identifying all Revolutionary War Patriots buried there and coordinating documentation efforts.
- Identify cemeteries within an assigned town
- Locate and document all Revolutionary War Patriots’ gravesites
- Work with local historical societies and cemetery commissions
- Ensure accurate records and respectful documentation
- Photograph headstones clearly and respectfully

- Research military and patriotic service during the Revolutionary War
- Verify information using primary and secondary sources
- Document and cite sources clearly for future reference
